Foxes Lane
Case Study
Location: West Wellow, Hampshire
Client: Milestone Infrastructure (M Group)
Value: Circa £140k
Date: Completed 2024
Foxes lane in West Wellow had a few challenges posed by the frequently overflowing ford, which had been causing significant damage to the previous road surface. Our aim in this project was to resolve this, we installed a brand-new concrete road, designed to withstand these conditions and provide long-lasting durability.
The scheme was implemented to stop the erosion of the area around the river by replacing broken sections of pipe.
Our team implemented new drainage systems and repaired existing pipes to enhance the area's overall infrastructure, in addition we also implemented a new road installation.
We also carried out verge and bank retention works to prevent future erosion, ensuring the long-term stability of the surrounding environment.
During our time working on this project we suffered spells of bad weather which caused the river to rise, adding risk that the project could be delayed. To overcome this we over pumped and bunged the pipes which was vital to ensure the programme wasn't are interrupted.
We installed full heigh kerbs and a new concrete road, with reinforcement alongside a K-form system.
This project was delivered on time and within budget, with no remedials or defects. In line with BQS’s right first-time policy.
